I have finished all the online image from all the kids!!!! If you do not see your child listed and they attended the event please let me know, as that means we did not receive your child's photos for the book. I am now working on the book and should have that done real soon. We are also in the process of planning a few other events, so keep an ear out here and at our Facebook page. So, be sure to like our Facebook to keep up to date. You can also subscribe to this blog through RRS feed. Feel free to leave comments here or on Facebook. Remember that the images that you see here are NOT all the images that each kid took. The ones that were the most interesting and best quality were chosen for the book, so keep and eye out for the book.
Update, lens rental Rant
Borrowlenses.com has redeemed themselves. It is a holiday weekend and they have responded to my email. Here it is....
Hi James,
Thanks for contacting us at Borrowlenses.com.
I see that the system automatically marked these items as missing. Unfortunately, our system is set up so that it marks items missing if we don't scan them in within a certain time frame during the unboxing and receiving stage. I believe we have all of these items and I will notify our warehouse manager of this.
I'm very sorry about the confusion.
If you have any other questions, please give us a call or email us.
Thanks,
Andrew
I am very happy that they responded as quickly as they did. TY VERY MUCH Borrowlenses!
Renting lenses rant
Ok, so as most photographers do I decided to test out a lens before spending any kind of cash to purchase it. I decide to rent one. In searching for a good company, with good reputation, I decided that www.borrowlenses.com was going to be the place. They had raving reviews and decent prices. I ordered the lens and it all went great. I received the lens in its case with the tripod collar, lens hood, front and rear caps, and a UV filter attached. Great! I was happy it was in great shape. I used the lens randomly for the next three days never taking off the UV filer or tripos collar. I didn't see the point. When it came to shipping it back to Barrowlenses I put both front and back lens caps on it and made sure the lens hood was secure, put it back in the lens bag and put it in the originality shipping box that it came in and shipped it back to them.
Now, five days after they received the package I have received an email which states.........
Hi James,
When checking in your order we noticed that not all of the items that belong to the rental were returned back to us. Please double-check to see if you accidentally forgot to return the following item(s):

BorrowLenses.com Receiving Department
WTF!!!!! First why has it taken you FIVE days after receiving the package to get back to me?
So I have written them a response email explaining that all the items listed about (which is everything but the lens and lens bag) were in fact sent along in the same shipping container as the lens. Now I wait for a response! I will probably NEVER do this again!!!!
Kids Photos update
Ok so I have been very busy lately but I am still working hard at putting up some of the photos that the kids took at the "World Through My Eyes" photo walk last week. I am NOT putting up all of the photos that the kids took. I have to save some for the book. We want the book photos to be a surprise. The event was a blast and I wish that I had been able to spend more time with the kids myself but I was very busy fixing battery and other issues with cameras. I am going to be working on planning more stuff soon. We will let you know as we know more.
Sunday is just around the corner
The list of to-do's that needs to get done before Sunday is (thankfully) getting shorter and shorter. I keep feeling like I am forgetting something big! James assures me that everything is going to be wonderful and that it will all be ready for the big day.
Name badges for everyone!
The weather team over at Channel 9 keep telling me that we are going to have beautiful conditions for the Photo Walk on Sunday. I hope so. The excitement level here at ASquared Central (AKA our house!) is growing by the day. James and I are both excited to meet everyone on Sunday morning. Our boys are getting excited to help out and hopefully meet some new friends.
Emails have been sent out with participant and volunteer information. If you have not received an email please call the office asap! We want to make sure that everyone has all the up to date information on the photo walk. Keep an eye out here as well as the event page on Facebook for all the current information for Sunday.
